The rotary encoders are used to count the revolutions of equipment by connecting them directly to the shifts of that equipment. The applicable subheading for the rotary encoders will be 9029.10.8000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for revolution counters, production counters, taximeters, odometers, pedometers and the like; revolution counters, production counters, taximeters...other. The rate of duty will be free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
